Getting to the Conference Hotel

Denver International Airport (DEN) to the Hyatt Regency Aurora-Denver Conference Center

Arriving at Denver Airport

Airport Transportation: How to Get from DEN to the Conference Hotel

Everything you need to reach the Hyatt Regency Aurora-Denver Conference Center, 13200 East 14th Place, Aurora, CO 80011. Hotel front desk: (303) 365-1234. The hotel is about 16 miles from Denver International Airport (DEN), roughly a 25 minute drive.

Read this first: The hotel does not operate an airport shuttle. Please do not wait at the airport curb for a hotel van. Use one of the four options below. The hotel shuttle is free, but it only runs within 3 miles of the hotel, which includes the Peoria train station.

Your Four Options at a Glance

1

Uber or Lyft

EASIEST25 MINABOUT $40 TO $60

  3. Buy an Airport Day Pass ($10) from a ticket machine or the RTD Mobile Tickets app. Youth 19 and under ride free.
  4. Board the RTD A Line train toward Union Station. Trains leave about every 15 minutes.
  5. Get off at the third stop, Peoria Station, about 20 minutes later. Wait for the hotel shuttle at the passenger pick up curb.

Free Hotel Shuttle

Call (720) 925-5323

The complimentary shuttle serves any destination within 3 miles of the hotel, including Peoria Station, restaurants, and the Anschutz Medical Campus. It does not go to Denver International Airport. Call ahead to be picked up or dropped off at any point during your stay. Pick up hours are typically 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; confirm timing when you call, and allow about 30 minutes notice.

Going Back to the Airport

Plan to leave the hotel 3 hours before your flight. Because the hotel shuttle does not serve the airport, you have two choices:

  • Uber or Lyft direct to DEN. Request from the hotel main entrance. About 25 minutes.
  • Free shuttle plus the train. Call (720) 925-5323 at least 30 minutes ahead for a ride to Peoria Station, then take the A Line eastbound toward the airport. About 20 minutes on the train, $10.

The last A Line train leaves the airport around midnight, and service starts again about 3:30 a.m. For very early flights, book a rideshare or taxi.

Using the Free Shuttle Once You Are Here

The same shuttle that meets you at Peoria Station runs all week. Call (720) 925-5323 to book a ride.

Within the 3 mile radius, so the shuttle can take you:

  • Peoria Station, for the train to the airport or into downtown Denver.
  • Friday Welcome Reception, September 18 at 7:00 p.m., Holiday Inn Express & Suites Denver – Aurora Medical Campus, 14200 E. Colfax Ave. Roughly 1 mile from the hotel.
  • Anschutz Medical Campus, immediately next door.
  • Nearby pharmacies, grocery stores and restaurants along East Colfax Avenue.

How to use it well:

  • Call about 30 minutes ahead. It is one vehicle serving the whole hotel, so it can be busy at peak times.
  • Pickup hours are typically 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Confirm the current hours at the front desk when you check in.
  • Book the return leg at the same time so you are not stranded.
  • For evening events and anything beyond 3 miles, including the 5K run and downtown Denver, plan on a rideshare or carpool.
  • It does not go to Denver International Airport, in either direction.

Before You Fly: A Seven Point Checklist

  • 1. Save (720) 925-5323 as NAPPSA hotel shuttle and (303) 365-1234 as NAPPSA hotel in your phone.
  • 2. Install Uber or Lyft and add a payment method before you leave home. Setting it up at the airport with poor signal is a common headache.
  • 3. Taking the train? Install RTD Mobile Tickets so you can buy the $10 Airport Day Pass on your phone.
  • 4. Bookmark or screenshot this page. Save the hotel address offline in case you land without data.
  • 5. If your flight lands after 7:00 p.m., do not plan on the shuttle. Budget for a rideshare or taxi.
  • 6. Aurora sits at about 5,280 feet. Drink water on the flight and go easy on alcohol the first evening.
  • 7. Arrange your return ride the night before you leave, and plan to depart the hotel three hours before your flight.

Arriving from Outside the United States

Most attendees travelling from Nigeria or Europe will connect through another United States city and clear immigration and customs there, not in Denver. Allow at least three hours for that connection, because you collect your bags, clear customs, and re-check them before your Denver flight.

If you do clear customs at Denver, you exit into the Jeppesen Terminal on Level 5 like every other arriving passenger, and all four transport options above work exactly the same way.

Travelling as a Group

Sharing a ride is the single easiest way to cut your travel cost. An Uber XL or a taxi van holds up to six people, so a $60 fare split four ways comes to about $15 each, cheaper and faster than the train.

If your chapter or delegation is arriving together, compare flight numbers and landing times in advance and agree on a meeting point at baggage claim. For parties of six or more, a pre-booked shared van from Level 5, Island 5 is worth pricing out.
